I am currently sitting on the recliner under a sleeping baby while a man cleans my house.
Well well, hasn’t the world come a long way?
Now don’t go thinking I’m lucky enough to be able to afford a cleaner. I am definitely not. My budget covers me on my hands and knees with baby wipes, not someone with a steam cleaner removing the smooshed banana that has been spread over the floor from the tornado-two. But I was lucky enough to win a cleaner for 2 x 2 hour cleans! Dream come true, right?
I just looked over and he’s cleaning under the dining chairs! Seriously? Man, I wish I had this guy here every week!
I know I’m a stay at home mum and I should have time to clean that deep, but the fact is, I don’t. I think that only my fellow stay at home parents will understand that some days there’s barely enough time to make yourself lunch, let alone clean the dust out of the wall heater. Should I have that hour-old cold cup of tea or clean behind the fridge? Should I change the third poopy nappy of the morning or clean the bathtub?
Parenting is all about prioritising and the priority is always the kids. Are they fed, clean, and happy? Yes? Then I think I’m doing ok!
Anyway, I’m going to attempt to put the baby into his cot so that I have free hands to make a cuppa. I deserve it – It’s hard work watching someone else clearing cobwebs from your roof.
Wish me luck!
Today’s little wins:
Mumma: Long weekend coming up and a clean house to enjoy it in!
Biggest-Little: He has been very helpful this morning. He also keeps telling me my new hair cut is pretty.
Middle-Little: Being his usual bubbly, inquisitive, happy self chatting away to the cleaner
Smallest-Little: Had a very long sleep this morning! Yay!
